Balancing the WKU basketball roster

Alot of questions have been raised about how the WKU basketball roster will balance out next season with only 13 scholarships available per NCAA regulations and with currently 16 players either with the team or signed.

Everyone at this point has heard about Justin Johnson going to football so that will drop the tally down to 15.

Latest news I have heard is that Chris Duarte who signed with WKU back in May will have to sit out a year for NCAA clearinghouse reasons much like Robinson Idehen had to do for WKU this past season. As long as he enrolls and keeps his grades up he should be a part of the team for the 2018-2019 season. Scholarship total now down to 14.

I also heard recently that Jabari McGhee will be red-shirting this upcoming season and switching over to football similar to Justing Johnson. Word is he may be trying to be a wideout. Which would make him an extremely tall one at 6'7". However, Jabari does possess a lot of speed and athleticism for his height. He would be a major red zone threat if he does.

If all of this turns out to be the case than the WKU fans worrying about scholarship limits will no longer have to worry as that would bring WKU down to the NCAA mandated 13 scholarship limit.
