In the hast of covering last night's football game and having a busy Saturday, there was a significant basketball commitment that happened on Friday evening as well as Southern Idaho (JC) shooting guard Fredrick Edmond, who was on a visit to WKU over the weekend.
Edmond has been on the Hilltoppers radar for quite sometime, even committing to the Hilltoppers back in April of 2013. However, he opted to enroll at Southern Idaho for the 2013-14 season where he led the team in scoring averaging 18 points per game while shooting 54% from the field. He also averaged 6.3 rebounds per contest.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard has a close relationship with current WKU point guard Chris Harrison-Docks. Both crossing paths during their prep careers in Michigan, Harrison-Docks at Okemos High and Edmond at Eastern High in East Lansing.
Before landing at Southern Idaho, Edmond played one year at Kingdom Prep Academy in Johnson, Iowa where he torched the nets averaging 34 points per game.
He becomes the second verbal commitment for WKU in the class of 2015, joining South Side (Tn) point guard Chris McNeal.
