Myself and Tyler Mansfield went out to Bowling Green High School tonight to check out the Purples/Fern Creek Class 5A semifinal showdown. The Purples prevailed 21-0, scoring off of three explosive offensive plays - one being a hook-and-ladder that junior running back Jamale Carothers took to the house. Carothers also scored on a short throw that he took down the sidelines for a touchdown. He was extremely impressive offensively on a night where neither team really moved the ball that well.
Hilltopper fans have a lot to be excited about when it comes to the WKU commits that were on the field in Bowling Green offensive tackle Jordan Merideth and Fern Creek middle linebacker Lamarius Kinslow. Very impressed with Merideth's athleticism and footwork at the tackle position, was extremely solid in pass protection throughout the night. Kinslow had a handful of tackles and showed off really good mobility and lateral movement when dropping back into pass coverage. Both players look the part of D1 athletes with their size and frame.
Stay tuned for highlights from the game and an exclusive interview with Bowling Green's Jordan Merideth.
