A summary of what WKU head coach Tyson Helton, Joey Beljan, and Juwuan Jones said during Wednesday's C-USA Media Day
TYSON HELTON:
- Very excited about this year
- Winning championships are really important
- Excited about the season, excited about the teams in C-USA
- Been a part of C-USA since 1996 when he was a quarterback at Houston
- Looking forward to the future and thinks their will be exciting teams that they will add
- Has a good offense coming back this year
- Going to wait to name a quarterback, battle throughout fall camp
- Proud of their defense last year, particularly at the end of the year
- Felt they gained a lot of momentum in the back half of the season, credits defense for putting them in the C-USA championship game
- On offense, they have good skill players and weapons to choose from, a lot of depth
- Josh Simon will be back, Davis provides a lot speed on the outside, Corley had a good year last year
- His job to get them on the field at the right place at the right time
- Transfer portal is a good thing. If used in the right way, it can help your team in a short amount of time
- Zappe made their offense last year, that's the good side of the transfer portal. Bad side is trying to retain players
- It's the wild, wild west. They are diving right in with the portal and NIL and are adjusting as they go. Believes there needs to be some guardrails though.

On goals and expectations:
- Staying healthy for fall camp is the biggest goal on offense
- Have a lot of depth and there is a lot of names that people will know when the season starts
JUWUAN JONES:
On goals and expectations
- Wants to come off fall camp healthy
- Improve and get better everyday and get the scheme down
- Wants to be the best leader he can be
