The Conference-USA Preseason Coaches Poll is out and about and the only time the letters "WKU" are printed are in the fourth-place slot of the East Division. That's it. No Hilltoppers are listed among the first-team all-conference players.

What are your impressions? Talk amongst yourselves...

I don't see how we could be surprised. We lost the majority of our playmakers and headliners from last year. You can't expect a new conference to know about the quality of our other players.

The good news is that this should make us hungry to teach them who we are, establish respect, etc. I think we'll do fine, but I'm not at all surprised.

I think the more surprising thing wasn't being predicted to finish fourth in the East Division, but I thought maybe Cam Thomas would have cracked the first-team all-conference team.

Admittedly haven't followed much C-USA football in the past few years. It's a good primer. My major take away is that Marshall is going to be good.

I agree we can't expect them to rank us too highly after losing some major impact players. And it would be bullish of a writer to project us to be atop of the conference in an upward move like this. If I'm not mistaken, C-USA has 7 or 8 bowl tie-ins? Hopefully someone that knows more can chime in. The major thing will be getting to 6 wins again. It'll be nice to know that bowl game is coming after our boys have gone out there and earned it.

Agreed guys. From what I can tell, Marshall is the clear cut favorite here. I saw Cato in person last year when the Herd played at Virginia Tech and he's a playmaker. He'll put up some huge numbers this year and probably me a decently high draft pick next year, at least third round or so right now. That'll be a big game for WKU to end the season with.
