Head coach Mike Sanford:
- Feels there is a big jump for him in his second season. Says it takes time to build relationships with players and playcalling and feels they are in a better spot in that regard in year two.
- Reiterated that he will call the offensive plays this season, was doing so during the spring and is excited for the upcoming season.
- Says he feels good about Drew Eckels being in his fifth year and backing up guys like Brandon Doughty and Mike White the last few years.
- Excited about their recruiting class they brought in this past season and learning from the 10 seniors they have on their team.
- Said they went back to the drawing board as coaching regarding the running game and the deficiencies there last season. They have developed better schemes that will help out the skillset of their running backs on the roster for the upcoming year.
- He likes the the pedigree of T.J. Woods, the new offensive line coach and likes what he's seeing from that unit so far this spring and summer.
- Mentioned the linebackers and secondary has a lot of speed. Is impressed with DeAngelo Malone as a pass rusher and thinks he'll be a very special player.

- Said himself and Eckels go out and throw at crazy times to. They went out and threw at 9:45 on a Saturday night, Coach Sanford had campus police turn on the lights for them and let them in.
- He is comfortable in a leadership role among the receivers group knowing that he's an upperclassmen.
DeAndre Farris:
- Said they are stressing to be more aggressive when balls are in the air in response to lack of turnovers last year.
- Stresses it's important to have veterans in the secondary of the defense coming back. Said he felt like they were a better team than what they looked like on film last year. Expects major improvements this season.
