DeAndre Farris and Marquez Trigg
What happened after you were up 21-0?
Farris: “We gave up some big plays, we gave up some plays that we didn't need to give up. Also I think that we played conservative, we got too relaxed so that's something going into the following weeks that we've got to continue to put the pedal to the metal and put pressure on opposing offenses.”
How do you keep the locker room together and keep the faith?
Farris: Just continue to express that everything's alright because it is. It's only week 2 - we've got 10 more games left and that's a lot of games that we can win. So my attitude going forward is to continue to work and to stay positive and things are going to be good. Right now we're facing adversity and in this game you're going to face adversity so we have to embrace it and go to work tomorrow.
Did you sense a point where the momentum really shifted?
Farris: “I don't think there's a particular play, I just think we as a defense realized we need to turn the intensity back on. We weren't as intense as we were in the first couple of series when the offense was scoring and we were scoring. Like I said, we just have to keep pedal to the metal and stay aggressive.”
What kind of adjustments do you think Maine made?
Trigg: “I know the first or second quarter, running the ball wise we were doing pretty good and then they adjusted to it, they came out in more like a bear front and kind of shut us down running the ball so I feel like that kind of hurt us on offense but we still had chances to make plays and we didn't execute and I know when we were backed up Sanford believed in us and to get that yard, it's a yard, we can't make excuses we have to get that.”
