Western Kentucky continues to cast a wide net of offers out to 2016 prospects, but the Hilltoppers did host a couple of East Tennessee prospects in Morristown West strong safety Calvin Smith and extended an offer to Sevier County quarterback Deuce Wallace, who was visiting as well.
Wallace is a prospect that would be a perfect fit in the Hilltoppers offensive system under Jeff Brohm and his recruiting process is starting to pick up, recently receiving offers from Temple, Northwestern, Louisiana Tech, and Middle Tennessee.
Deuce Wallace Highlights
The Hilltoppers also offered another big-time Tennessee prospect in Father Ryan safety JoeJuan Williams. The four-star prospect already has a long list of offers from top programs that include LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee, and others. He's a national prospect and I would venture to say those three schools will likely be battling for his commitment.
I made it down to the National Playmakers Academy 7-on-7 tryouts in Nashville on Sunday and was able to talk to a couple of prospects Western Kentucky is expressing a lot of interest in. I did video interviews with Father Ryan wide receiver Bryce Vickers and Overton defensive back/wide receiver Elijah Pankey, so look for those in the next couple of days.
Both of those guys intend to visit Western Kentucky this upcoming weekend for their junior day event. Also, Brentwood Academy (Tn.) running back Prince Momodu has informed me that he will be at WKU's junior day event as well. Very explosive runner that dealt with some injury issues last year, but has great top-end speed.
