I have to give the Herd credit for almost coming back to win. Certainly, the Herd has a good team but the reality is Marshall is not nearly as good as the Herd fans want to believe. The suggestion that Marshall should have been included in the playoff rankings was absurd given the Herd's weak schedule. Despite the loss to Western, I will admit Marshall has a potent offense but today Western proved that it has a little better offense. Hopefully, the Tops will get a bowl bid and have another opportunity to show the nation their potent offense.

This time we don't have to wonder if we'll get a bid. We are in by virtue of 7 wins. CUSA has a rule that 7 win teams must be picked before 6 win teams. There are only five 7 win CUSA teams and we have five primary bowl agreements plus some secondary ones.
