Following a career outing against Middle Tennessee on Saturday, the John Mackey Award has named WKU senior Mitchell Henry it's Tight End of the Week.

Henry was a top target in the passing game, hauling in seven catches for 128 yards and two scores, all personal highs. His two scores came in crunch time. His first score, a 19-yard catch gave the Hilltoppers a 31-24 lead in the fourth quarter and his second score from 25-yards out came on the first play of overtime where he leaped into the endzone while two Blue Raider defenders met him at the goal line.

Henry is the second Hilltopper to receive the John Mackey Tight End of the Week honors. The first was Jack Doyle, who received his back on October 12th, 2011 after nabbing six catches for 100 yards in a double-overtime win against Middle Tennessee.

Definitely says something about that rivalry.

Through three games this season, Henry has recorded 14 catches for 225 yards and two touchdowns. He was placed on the John Mackey Award Watch List before the season.
