WKU junior center Jamarion Sharp was selected as a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award, announced on Tuesday, March 1.
Sharp is currently leading the nation in dunks with 78, second in blocks with 130 and records 4.5 blocks per game.
Sharp was one of 10 players to make the list for the award and was one of three players outside of Power Five programs.
With the news, Western Kentucky has become the only school to have two different players become semifinalists for the award. Sharp joins former Hilltopper and current Philadelphia 76ers center Charles Bassey.
