Following yet another historic season on the hardwood, Travis Hudson's Lady Topper volleyball squad - who lead the country with 31 wins on the year - will head to Utah to face Arizona in the first round of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament, apart of the Lexington regional.

WKU and Arizona will square off at 6 C.T. on Friday evening.

The Wildcats finished with a 19-13 record, and while they didn't face any C-USA teams this year, did face Texas State (Sun Belt) and won in straight sets. So...that's....something? 'Zone is also an at-large bid from the Pac 12, despite finishing with a conference record of 9-11.

This season marks the seventh appearance in the NCAA tourney since 2007, where the Lady Toppers (unfortunately) have a 1-6 record, with the lone win coming in a straight-set sweep of Loyola Marymount in 2012. The losses came to the hands of Wichita St. (2007, 0-3), Cincinnati twice (2008, 3-2, and 2010, 3-0), Marquette (2011, 3-1) and a straight-set defeat last year to Iowa State.

If WKU is victorious on Friday, they'll advance to face the winner of Ohio and the #13 overall seed BYU (this year's tournament only has overall seeds, as opposed to individual regional seeds like you're used to seeing in hoops tourneys).

Other teams of note to WKU in the Lexington regional are Kentucky (obviously) and former Sun Belt rivals Arkansas State and Denver.

If WKU were to face any of those aforementioned teams, it'd be in the region final, to be held on December 12.

How far do you think the Lady Toppers can advance? Will they snap their recent bad-luck string in the tournament?
