Lyon County (Ky.) 2024 guard Travis Perry, a four-star prospect who Western Kentucky extended an offer to this past April, has garnered the interest of a mountain of programs in the following months, including several Power Five schools.
Perry has collected offers from Creighton, Iowa, Mississippi, New Orleans, Western Kentucky, Cincinnati, Purdue and Nebraska. He has also garnered interest from Virginia Tech, Indiana, Virginia, College of Charleston, Western Michigan, Illinois State, Colgate and Longwood. He has additionally been on unofficial visits with Cincinatti, WKU, Ole Miss, Belmont and Indiana.
The prospect out of Eddyville, KY. was recently at Western Kentucky's team camp with Lyon County's basketball team. He spoke with InsideHilltopperSports.com about how the camp went for him and revealed how involved the Hilltoppers have been with his recruitment.
“Our team did very well, made it to the final four," Perry said. "I had a sprained ankle, so I was sidelined, but it was a good chance for a bunch of younger guys to play. Coach Stansbury and the staff were around all weekend and prioritized us, without a doubt.”
Perry said that since picking up an offer from Western Kentucky last April, the Hilltoppers have been heavily involved in his recruitment, contacting him just about every day. Perry said he is planning on returning to Western Kentucky for another visit in the future.
“I’ve been talking to the coaches about every day, they are heavily involved," Perry said. "I will definitely be taking more visits there.”
