Well, it appears that former Bowling Green High School standout Joe Manley is now officially a part of the Hilltopper football team according to Chad Bishop of the Bowling Green Daily News, who broke the news earlier today.
According to Bishop's report, the sophomore offensive lineman asked for his release from Louisville on Friday and has been cleared to practice for WKU, wearing #79 and slotting in the right guard position with the second-team offense.
The big man redshirted his freshman season before seeing time in nine games for the Cardinals last season. At 6-foot-6, 330-pounds, Manley will definitely add instant size along the offensive line and get much needed reps during practice as the season moves forward to prepare him for next season.
Per transfer rules, he won't be eligible until next season.
Manley was a three-star prospect and the 7th best recruit in Kentucky according to Rivals. He chose Louisville over other offers from Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and Illinois, where he was ironically being recruited by former Illini offensive coordinator and current WKU head coach Jeff Brohm.
