Western Kentucky added another important piece to their 2015 recruiting class on Thursday as Houston (Tn.) shooting guard Marlon Hunter verbally committed to Ray Harper and the Hilltopper hoops squad.
He chose WKU over a final list that included East Tennessee State, Northern Arizona, Tennessee-Martin, and DePaul.
The Memphis product earned a name for himself playing with Wings Elite on the EYBL circuit this spring and summer, displaying a quick first step to the basket and showing off a soft-shooting touch. He averaged 13 points per game, shot 47-percent from the field, and led the league in steals with 44.
The three-star prospect joins South Side (Tn.) point guard and close friend Chris McNeal as current Hilltopper commitments for the 2015 class.
Western Kentucky assistant coach Shawn Forrest has been instrumental in the recruiting process for both.
