I previously talked about some frontcourt targets that Western Kentucky is keeping an eye on to finish out their 2015 recruiting class, but it also appears the Hilltoppers are in search for a shooting guard to cap off the recruiting class as well.
One prospect that remains on the radar is Ricky Council, a 6-foot-4 sharpshooter out of Moravian Prep (N.C.). The Tops offered Council back in late November and for now it appears that Providence is the front runner for the talented scorer. He also holds offers from Tulsa, Georgia Southern, Florida International, Marshall, and others.

Another 2015 shooting guard to keep an eye on that has been having a head-turning season is Jalen Perry out of Ballard (Ky.). He is currently averaging 21.3 points and 6.7 rebounds for the #1 team in the state of Kentucky. Perhaps his most impressive performance came earlier this season in the championship game of the Next Level Hoops in Nashville, Tennessee where he scored 41 points against host CPA (Tenn.) and their talented duo of 2016 small forward Braxton Blackwell and eighth grade point guard phenom Tyger Campbell (who holds a WKU offer). Western Kentucky has expressed interest for a while and it seems to be picking up more of late.

2017 Notes
The WKU staff continues to do a great job of evaluating in-state talent and getting in on them early, having recently offered Waggener (Ky) 2017 shooting guard Devon Cooper back in late December. Cooper is currently averaging 17.5 points per game this season and is shooting 46.6% from the field. The talented sophomore also has offers from Wright State and IUPUI.
Also, Graves County (Ky) 2017 center Chris Vogt is having a monster sophomore season. He's averaging 11.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game and is a shot-blocking machine this season. He only needs seven more blocks to set his school's single-season record after coming off a 22 point, 13 rebound, and 10 block triple-double performance on Friday in a 69-52 win over Marshall County.
