I believe it's important that WKU continue to separate itself from its competitors. As you know, Western's new conference rival, Marshall, opened its $25 million indoor football practice facility in September 2014. Not to be out done, Ohio University opened its new indoor football practice facility in August the same year. Whether you agree with the “keeping up with the Joneses'” argument, coaches will tell you building an indoor practice facility is considered a must to keep you on a level playing field in recruiting against your rivals. If what coaches say is true, I'm just glad Western is keeping up in this arms race.
