Had a chance to check the first annual On Top Athletics Exposure Camp this morning at Wilson Central (Tenn.) High School. Was a lot of players from that particular area of that are under-rated and while the talent pool wasn't huge from a numbers stand point, there were some really good athletes that stood out.
- Ray Coggins, 2017 CB, Wilson Central (Tn.) - the 3-star rated prospect locked down defenders all day in 1-on-1 and 7-on-7 competition. His performance earned him MVP honors and I can really see his recruiting process pick up when he attends camps this summer.
- Station Camp's 2017 WR Marcus DeVault took home MVP honors as well. DeVault has a prototypical slot-back build at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds but was extremely shifty and quick in his route-running and showed off a great set of hands as well.
- Other WR's that were impressive during today's camp was Josh Smith, a 2017 prospect out of Brentwood Academy and Mount Juliet 2018 prospect Jalen Sowell. Smith told me he is hearing from WKU and Sowell just recently took a trip to Louisville, who is showing him some interest.
- Another young prospect from Mount Juliet to keep an eye on is Marcello Walton. While a small back at around 5-foot-8, Walton hits the weight room often with a big, physical frame. He cuts well out of his stance and becoming a threat in the passing game and caught most passes that came his way that were catchable.
Other standouts from camp:
- Kemon Neubell, 2018 LB, Lebanon (Tenn.)
- Justin Brewington, 2017 DB, Pearl-Cohn
- Grayson Edgemon, 2017 QB, Madison Academy (Ala.) - getting interest from Sun Bel & C-USA schools.
