What is everyone thinking about tomorrow night? I'm cautiously optimistic that the Tops will come to play from the get go. It's about that time for Harper's teams to kick it in gear and start what is hopefully another Harper Mania adventure. I think WKU gets the win and has some much needed momentum going into ODU on Saturday.

What do you think?

I believe WKU's bench will have a big night. I think CHD will be a key contributor. Toppers win 82-71.

Shoutout to Daniel for his first message board post!

As for WKU, they really need to score a win at Charlotte on Thursday night. None of these road games are going to be easy by no means, but the most manageable one on paper is against Charlotte. If you go back to the first game, the Tops came out red-hot from 3-point land, then cooled off quite a bit and let the 49ers get back into the game. WKU was able to fend them off by playing smart offensively, with only four turnovers the entire game, and being a little more selective with their shooting (particularly from three) in the second half.

The Hilltoppers also got absolutely waxed on the boards that game as well by 49-to-29 margin, which resulted in Charlotte getting a lot of second-chance opportunities with 15 of those rebounds being offensive. That rebounding effort simply can't happen on the road if you're Western Kentucky.

I believe Western Kentucky will play solid defense throughout, not dig themselves a huge hole early-on, feed Fant in the low post and run the offense through him, and get some more key production from guys like CHD, Rostov, and Lawson - and that will help them prevail 75-69.

I can't get those rebounding numbers from the first game against Charlotte out of my head. Though I don't see the Tops letting that happen again. If WKU can find the bottom of the net at 44% or better from the field and can limit a team to shooting less then 50% on them for one of the few times in the last several games. Then I think the Tops come out on top. I will say 71-64 WKU wins on the road. Pending the outcome to the UTEP game Thursday night. Will set the stage for a major showdown in Norfolk on Saturday against ODU.
