WKU offensive lineman Quantavious Leslie was one of the 89 players placed on the Outland Trophy watch list, the Football Writers Association of America revealed on Tuesday morning.
The 2022 campaign will mark the 77th anniversary of the Outland Trophy, which celebrates the country's best interior linemen.
Last season, Leslie was crucial at protecting C-USA MVP and NCAA record-setting quarterback Bailey Zappe. As a unit, Leslie and his teammates only allowed a total of 17 sacks last season, which was the 12th best in college football and second-best in the conference. Leslie's performance last season earned him All-Conference USA Second Team honors and Pro Football Focus' All-Conference USA First Team honors.
The winner of the Outland Trophy will be named on the Home Depot College Football Awards, which will be live on ESPN on Thursday, Dec. 8. The winner will also be officially announced at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner, which will be sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee in Omaha, Neb. on Jan 11, 2023.
