1. Freshman Taveion Hollingsworth again was impressive and efficient, 21 points on 9 of 12 shooting in 37 minutes of play. Too early to give him the C-USA Freshman of the Year award? Marek Nelson or Jake Ohmer may have something to say about that.

2. Hilltoppers were lighting the nets on fire, shooting 69% (42-61) from the field and 47% (8-17)...that makes it easy to score 109 points on the night. In addition, the great ball movement equated to 25 assists on the night as well.

3. Darius Thompson ALMOST records a triple-double. He finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists in front of his father, Lonnie Thompson, the head coach of Cumberland. What's even better, Thompson only had two turnovers on the night.

4. Dwight Coleby and Justin Johnson look to be a nice one-two punch in the paint. Both combined for 38 points (Coleby 17, Johnson 21) and 16 rebounds (Coleby 9, Johnson 7). Johnson even chipped in with 5 assists.

5. True freshman trio of the above mentioned Hollingsworth, Jake Ohmer, and Marek Nelson combined for 53 points. WKU will need that type of production from those three, especially as Josh Anderson and Moustapha Diagne continue to set.

6. Exhibition season is now over and while WKU has looked impressive, it will be officially go time on Friday night as they host Missouri State, a team that is picked to win the Missouri Valley Conference by a lot of experts. So, the competition will be significantly tougher and we'll see how a thin, but talented, WKU roster will respond.
