1. Have to like the effort and fight of this WKU team. Went toe-to-toe with the 5th ranked team in the nation in the first half before it slipped away a bit in the second half when the Wildcats went on a 25-10 run. WKU kept fighting till the end and earned some respect.
2. How good is Villanova? The Wildcats scored 23 points off 16 WKU turnovers and outscored the Hilltoppers 14-0 on fastbreak points. They took advantage of every opportunity.
3. Need more from Lamonte Bearden, period. Four points on 2 of 11 shooting, three turnovers, and zero assists. Bearden's biggest asset is using his quickness to get to the rim and at the very least draw fouls and get to the line. He never attempted a foul shot. Stansbury noted it was the worst he's seen Bearden play in a game or in practice.
4. Another good effort from the in-state freshmen against a ranked opponent. Hollingsworth and Ohmer (who was perfect from the field) had nine point apiece. These two are bringing a lot to the table early on, not only because they are forced to, but because they can and are that good.
5. It's safe to say WKU got two high-quality grad transfers in Darius Thompson and Dwight Coleby, both led the way for the Hilltoppers on Wednesday. Thompson led the way with 16 points while Coleby secured a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
