Not much new to report in regards to action today, Leon Allen made his triumphant return to the practice field while D'Andre Ferby saw limited action on the field taking part in individual drills before working out with other injured players that are limited this spring.
It's only spring, but the backup quarterback battle between Drew Eckels and Nelson Fishback could be something to keep an eye on come fall. After having an awful first day of spring, Eckels has progressed well in the days since and was tossed some really good, accurate throws downfield today. In terms of knowing the playbook, that's where Eckels still has some growth and Fishback will have the edge. But, everything is up for grabs in the fall and backup quarterback job could be one of the best battles to watch.
