As the July evaluation period winds down, the Western Kentucky staff is in Greensboro, NC today for the Southern Jam Live event.
Some guys they are evaluating at that event include in-state talent Tavieon Hollingsworth. The 2017 shooting guard is running with MATTS Mustangs and is starting to gain some interest from the likes of Dayton, Marshall, UTEP, and Butler. The Sweet 16 MVP out of Dunbar (Ky.) recently visited Western Kentucky last month and it looks as if the Hilltoppers are also very interested in the high-volume scorer.
Also, the Tennessee Bobcats AAU programs is part of the event and they have another talented 2017 shooting guard on their squad in Tyreke Key out of Clay County (Tenn.). Key is another player that is putting together impressive performances this spring and summer. He has recently picked up offers from Lipscomb and Murray State.
It's also been noted that Stansbury and his staff have been watching top-level talent Billy Preston, a 5-star 2017 power forward out of Oak Hill (Va.).
