Just eight days till football signing day. Shouldn't we be getting some news about some coaching hires for the football team? I also notice we are down to 95 on the team rankings putting us pretty far behind MTSU,Marshall and So. Miss. I was sure hoping for a bounce in recruiting after this year's success on the field. We are going to need a pretty big bounce in the next week for that happen seems like.

Recruiting seems to be consistent with previous years. It would definitely help to hire more staff though...totally agree. Quarterback next year is ?????...I can understand the drop in ranking. It has been good to see the transfers from Louisville.

Well there is Mike White a transfer from South Fla. There is another transfer from L'ville who's name escapes me. That's two. There is Fishback who was the backup this year. Drew Eckles who will be a redshirt soph. Reese Ryan out of Lexington. And the commit out of South Carolina if Mushchamp don't flip him. So that is six to choose from. I've not been to practice or have any inside info on the ranking or status of anyone of these players. But I think finding one that is serviceable shouldn't be a issue. If Allen gets another year and comes back, the tops will be loaded at running back. Will be interesting to see if coach will adjust the offense some to take advantage of the strengths of the team or if he'll decide to stick with his successful plan and air it out lots. Interesting summer coming up.

Interesting summer coming up......most definitely. Six is a lot to choose from. Too many???? My hope is that one will be 3/4 as good as Doughty. Big shoes to fill in order to play the way they played this season. I think we will be fine at receiver as well. Offensive line should be very good as well. Running back.....very good as well. Looking like a good offensive unit already. To me, biggest ??? is still quarterback. Doughty hung himself out several times this season and took some big hits but kept going. I think the defense will be better than last seasons.

When I originally saw your headline, I was thinking you were talking about Basketball...It's been a terrible year so far!!!!

Well, they did officially hire one already. I think Barclay will be a hit on the recruiting trail.

This recruiting class that WKU is putting together is really good in my opinion. A lot of the commitments are overlooked and I feel under-rated by Rivals, but that's the nature of recruiting evaluations. It's hard for X amount of national analysts to truly evaluate the amount of talent out there when the main priority is evaluating top level power five talent.

You can put as much stock in team rankings as you want, the real evaluation of this recruiting class compared to others in C-USA will come 2-3 years down the road with performance on the field in which case I think WKU is in good standing.

Seems like the football players stay with the team for the duration. Basketball is the opposite. So many players come and go. DJ Clayton just to name one off the top of my head. 2-3 years down the road sounds right on for football.
