...yeah, I really think so!

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have added a road tilt with Alabama to the 2016 schedule for a single game series on September 10th, (sorry, no return game at Houchens-Smith in 2017) it becomes the third out-of-conference matchup in '16 with the others being a roadie to Miami (Oh) on September 17th and a home tilt with another SEC opponent in Vanderbilt on September 24th.

The Hilltoppers last battled the Crimson Tide in 2012, suffering a 35-0 loss and in my honest and humble opinion gave them a little more fight than Notre Dame did in that sham-mockery of a BCS championship game in January. Yawner!

The 2016 season is shaping up to be the biggest non-conference schedule yet, frankly, it already is! Embrace it people, that will give the Western Kentucky program even more exposure and a chance to compete against quality competition on a national stage.

It's called building a brand!

A lot of people are already chalking this game up as a "deposit the check" loss, but you seem to forget that the Nick Saban hired Lane Kiffin as his offensive coordinator, so by 2016, putting 35-points on the scoreboard will be a struggle even for the Crimson Tide.

Three more things - it's a short five-hour drive, there is plenty of Dreamland BBQ available, and an abundance of overzealous Tide fans to observe.

Haha, good one! I hope your vision of overzealous outweighs my version! Definitely a tale of two extremes!

Sean, there is a saying that you are known by the company you keep. Back in 2011, Kent State played Bama and from what I heard everyone who attended the game had a wonderful time. By the way, the $1.3 million payout is even better than Kent State got. Alabama paid KSU $1.2 million and as you know Nick Saban is a Kent State alumnus.

The Alabama Crimson Tide have added the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers to their 2016 football schedule, both schools announced today.
Alabama will host Western Kentucky at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 10, 2016. Alabama will pay WKU a $1.3 million guarantee for the game, per the Bowling Green Daily News.
The Crimson Tide are 2-0 against the Hilltoppers after recording a 35-0 shutout at home in 2012 and a 41-7 win in 2008.
WKU is the first announced non-conference opponent for the Alabama Crimson Tide for the 2016 season. Bama is also scheduled to host Colorado State in 2017 and is reportedly in discussions to play Miami (FL) in Atlanta the same season.
Alabama is the third scheduled non-conference opponent for Western Kentucky in 2016. The Hilltoppers are also slated to play at Miami (OH) on Sept. 17 and host Vanderbilt on Sept. 24.
"Obviously, playing Alabama is an opportunity to compete on the highest stage against a truly outstanding program," WKU Director of Athletics Todd Stewart said. "The five hour drive enables our fans to make the trip to Tuscaloosa and enjoy a terrific college football experience. Our players enjoy the exposure that results from competing at the highest level and many of them have excelled in recent games against strong non-conference opponents."
