Many people have already heard about the high level recruits that Stansbury has considering a career on the Hill. I have been working to try to verify if the interest is indeed mutual on the recruits part.
1st there is Malik Newman that we all know visited WKU campus. I have heard from multiple sources that we are currently the favorite to land the former #8 ranked player on Rivals in the class of 2015. Of course Newman would have to sit out a year. Making him eligible to play in the 2017-2018 season. In my opinion getting Newman is where the dominoes would start to fall at getting a couple of other big name prospects.
2nd there is Mitchell Robinson. Robinson is currently ranked as a 4-star prospect on Rivals and the #33 player overall in the 2017 class. Though expect Robinson to make the jump to 5-star and increased ranking to inside the Top 20 very soon after a great summer showcase. This would be an absolutely huge signing. Robinson is a massive post presence listed at 7 ft. He is one of the best rebounders and shot blockers in the entire country coming out of high school.
Lastly there has been another new name to surface recently with mention of WKU. Galen Alexander a 6'6" SF prospect from Lafayette, Louisiana. Alexander is currently a 4-star prospect and ranked #58 overall in the class of 2017. He possesses great athleticism and is very good at attacking the rim.
Stansbury has done an outstanding job on building his relationships over the years. He coached Newman's father at Miss St, hired Robinson's godfather as an assistant here at WKU, as well as was Robinson lead recruiter at Texas A&M who got Robinson to verbal. It wasn't until after Stansbury left A&M that Robinson reopened his recruitment.
feel free to share your thoughts.
