Rick Stansbury and company extended an offer to Lyon County High School guard Travis Perry this past Wednesday night.

The rising junior out of Eddyville, KY. announced the offer over social media.

"I really like the WKU staff," Perry said. "I’ve had a good relationship with Coach Cunningham and Coach Cross for a long time, well over a year and I really like Coach Stansbury as well. I spoke with Coach Stansbury on the phone on Wednesday night when he offered me.

Although, the 6-foot-2, 170-pound guard has garnered interest from several solid programs alongside the Hilltoppers, Perry has been paying attention to WKU's recruiting recently and seemed impressed by the addition of Kentucky transfer guard Dontaie Allen.

"I really like WKU," Perry said. "I like the facilities a lot and the history. I like that Lyon Couny has good history there also. I think they are going to have a good team coming in next season with the additions they are making."

Alongside a four-star ranking, Perry has also achieved a ranking of 66 nationally on the Rivals150. The Lyon County guard would be a huge commitment for the Hilltoppers, considering his success so far in high school. Before even reaching junior status, Perry has already scored 3,000 points.

Perry has already confirmed that he has received offers from Ole Miss, Creighton, New Orleans and WKU. Perry also told Rivals.com's national basketball recruiting analyst Travis Graf that he has also been recruited heavily by Stanford, Virginia, Iowa, Purdue, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Belmont, Murray State, Xavier and Saint Louis, but has not been offered quite yet. Graf also revealed that Indiana is also interested.

Although it is still relatively early in Perry's recruitment journey, Western Kentucky is a possible destination and according to Perry, the university is close to home, which is significant to him.

"I would describe my game as a guy that can do whatever is needed to win," Perry said. "I can score the ball, find open teammates, exploit mismatches and bring a great competitive nature. It’s a really significant offer with them being only about an hour and a half from my house and I really like the coaching staff a lot."
