WKU-Southern Miss game 2 thread

We are moments away from the first pitch here at Nick Denes Field.

WKU will go with Josh Bartley on the mound to start.

Southern Miss is starting freshman Kirk McCarty.

Southern Miss has a huge second inning scoring 6 runs, including a grand slam. After being shutout in game one, Southern Miss is making up for a lack of scoring in the series opener. The Golden Eagles score six in the top of the third to make it 12-0.

WKU hoping to get on the board heading into the bottom of the third.

Southern Miss leading 15-1 in the top of the sixth. The difference maker in this game is Southern Miss being able to capitilize on WKU's errors. 14 out of 15 of the Golden Eagles runs have been unearned. I don't think too many people would be able to name a game off the top of their head that you see 14 unearned runs scored on a team. Today is just not the Toppers day.

Tomorrows game three is shaping up to be the rubber match in the series.

The Hilltoppers fall 15-3 in the second game of the series. WKU outhit their opponents 13-9 despite losing by 12 runs. The series finale will take place tomorrow.
