Ok so not a lot can be observed when playing this type of opponent but I will do my best.

  • This is exactly the type of game WKU needed coming off a heartbreaking loss in overtime to Vanderbilt the previous week. WKU hasn't played an FCS opponent in a couple of years. It is a game that should be able to give you the ability to work on some things and get some extra guys playing time. And with the injury bug hitting the Tops this year it is a good thing to get some guys extra playing time for depth purposes.
  • TJ McCollum is the latest to fall victim to the injury bug. Brohm said that TJ "could be out for a while". On the good news...Forrest Lamp could potentially return this coming Thursday night @La Tech.
  • WKU offense could honestly have picked their score against Houston Baptist on Saturday. Brohm kept things pretty vanilla on play calling and tried to spread the ball around to get guys back to be comfortable.
  • Mike White was more consistent with his passes going 11-13 for 225 yards and 3 scores on Saturday and hit a few guys deep in stride. White needed a confidence boost in my opinion after 3 straight performance against Alabama, Miami (Oh), and Vandy that were sub par.
  • Nicholas Norris was Mr Efficiency on Saturday. Norris touched the ball 3 times and scored touchdowns on all 3 touches. Finishing with 2 catches for 53 yards and 2 scores and 1 carry for 85 yards and a score.
  • Nacarius Fant's 50 yard punt return for a touchdown on Saturday moves the junior receiver to #1 in the nation in punt returns for touchdowns.
  • While Ace Wells did not see much action on Saturday night. There was really no need to risk re-injuring him again this season. He did make the most of his touches. Carrying the ball 7 times for 87 yards...which was good enough for a solid 12.4 yards per carry.
