2023 DT/TE Wayne Peart offered by WKU

2023 defensive tackle and tight end Wayne Peart, an emerging senior at Chaminade-Madonna High School in Hollywood, FL., picked up an offer from Western Kentucky on Thursday, June 9.

Peart announced that he received an offer from the Hilltoppers over social media on Thursday evening.



The 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive tackle is a three-star prospect on Rivals.com and has achieved a 5.6 rating.


In addition to the offer from Western Kentucky, Peart has collected offers from Akron, Alabama A&M, Bowling Green, Coastal Carolina, Colorado, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Grambling State, Indiana, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Temple and West Virginia.

Peart spoke with InsideHilltopperSports.com about the offer from Western Kentucky and shared what he knows about the Hilltoppers at this point in his recruitment.

"One of my former teammates went to WKU," Peart said. "I know they have a good defensive line and their energy is extraordinary."

Peart said he talked to WKU director of scouting Zach Kramme and said he liked his energy and enjoyed the conversation.

"WKU started to get involved with my recruitment yesterday when I talked to Coach Kramme," Peart said. "I liked how easy it was to talk to him and his energy was great. He said he liked my film and they way I moved and played and he thought I would make a great fit over there at WKU."

Peart said he is planning to make it up to Western Kentucky this summer for a visit. He said he is very eager to see the campus and get to learn more about the program.

The 2023 prospect also revealed that while he doesn't have any camps on his schedule at the moment, he will be attending a

"I don’t have any camps that I have personally lined up yet but I’m going on a team college tour where I’m going to do a few camps With my team I believe," Peart said.

Peart also talked about playing for Chaminade-Madonna High School and talked about how the coaching staff helped him to develop as a player.

"Playing for Chaminade-Madonna has been the best decision I’ve ever made in my whole life," Peart said. "My head coach and the coaching staff are the best. The brotherhood over here is great too. I love the bond here where I can call my teammates brothers. Chaminade has built me up not only as a player but as a person. It has taught me how to carry myself, take care of myself and helped me to focus on what needs to get done. I would like to say they have prepared me for college but i know for sure I still have more improvements that need to be made before I get there."
