"It feels great to be offered by WKU," Grubbs said. "They are a great team and won their side of Conference USA, but lost in the championship to UTSA. I hope to see their campus this summer."
Grubbs spoke with WKU assistant coach, co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Zach Lankford and said the conversation went well.
"I talked to Coach Lankford," Grubbs said. "He came by my school and offered me then. I liked his personality. He has a very joking personality."
Grubbs said he is interested in taking a visit to Western Kentucky and is still working on his summer schedule. He said looking at all of his offers, this one from the Hilltoppers is a significant one.
"This is a good offer and I’m excited about it," Grubbs said. "I do plan on building a relationship with Coach Lankford."
Grubbs said that spending his high school football career at Maryville High School has helped him to develop as a player and said his coaches have also helped him to develop.
"Maryville has taught me to become a hard worker at everything, so I think that helps. My coaches have helped me with footwork, strength and technique that will help me in the long run," Grubbs said.
