Thanks to rivals I was able to easily find out that La. Tech has only lost 2 home games in 2 and 1 half season. I would bet the next time Western visits the streak will still be alive. Western played themselves into a position going in that a loss and they would still be tied for first. The only better out come would have been a victory. Beat Southern Miss, split the road trip and see what everyone else does Saturday night. I don't wish my Haven friends ill will but Rivals is a much better option due to the connectivity. Think about being down 8 and coming out f of the half and getting out scored 10 down 18. I didn't see it but Western must of fought well to cut it to under 10 several times. I would expect they got something out of this game. Maybe a little hunger.

Not surprised that we lost this road game. However, that probably means we will not be able to win the conference out right. I see the number one team probably having three losses and La Tech has the tie-breaker by beating us.

On the other hand, Saturday's game against Southern Miss. should be a win as that team has completely cratered. They lost at home tonight to Marshall 69 to 54 and have only one conference win.

Southern Miss is also playing without guard Rasham Suarez and senior forward Jeremiah Eason due to ineligibility from the ongoing NCAA investigation during Donnie Tyndall's tenure. The Golden Eagles are very short on depth needless to say.

Lots of foul trouble in the first half, with Fant, Price, and Lawson picking up two fouls in the first stanza. Fant picked his second up at around the nine-minute mark and already had six points, so not as strong of an inside post presence from that point on. The Hilltoppers went on a patented 16-2 run in the second half to cut the lead down to 49-43 at one point, but La Tech wouldn't be denied.

Price finished with 17 points and 10 boards while D.J. Clayton added 10 points, five rebounds, and three assists with zero turnovers. Definitely one of Clayton's best efforts this season.

Lick your wounds, learn a lesson, and focus on splitting the road trip by beating a not-so-good Southern Miss team.

I think the big surprise was a poor rebounding Tech squad out rebounded the Tops 39-32. Tech came into the game averaging 32 per game while WKU was averaging 38. Tech was giving up more then 38 boards a game. Couple that with 16 turnovers by the Tops and there is a the loss in a nutshell.
