when is something gonna be done about the abysmal baseball program? Western is a much better athletic department to allow this debacle to continue. We have a coach who does nothing but draw a check and has no intentions of making our baseball program better. JMHO.

I don't think you're giving this team enough credit. They've already surpassed last year's win total, are competitive in CUSA play for the first time in I can't remember when and are in the thick of the standings and will, barring a total collapse, will be playing in the CUSA tourney for I believe the first time.

How long does he get? Or is baseball just an also ran in our athletic department? I hope he can take the Tops to the College World Series and will gladly eat crow but I have my doubts.

If the Tops compiled another 16 win season this past year, he'd be gone. But, with the growth this year, he'll at least be around next year. It's going to have to be a slow build, unfortunately, and that bullpen is going to have to be figured out, but JP has bought himself some more time.

Also, the recruiting game is going to have to step up. I was talking with a former player the other day who said WKU isn't competitive in C-USA because they're only garnering OVC-level talent coming in

Not being argumentative but who’s fault is it that we only have OVC talent? Sounds to me as if he sits on his laurels instead of working in the field.

I would say he has another year or two. People underestimate what coach came into when he got here. Things are starting to get better.
