Belle Vernon (Pa.) 2024 ATH Braden Laux, who visited with the Hilltoppers this past October, picked up an offer from Western Kentucky this week.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound recruiting target out of Pittsburgh, PA. sat down with InsideHilltopperSports.com to discuss how it felt to haul in an offer from a school like Western Kentucky and revealed his interest in the program.
Laux said it felt great to collect an offer from the Hilltoppers, revealing he connected with WKU assistant director of scouting Quinn Warren and liked how easy it was to connect with him. Laux additionally revealed he's interested in returning to The Hill for another visit.
Laux stopped by Western Kentucky for a gameday visit this past October, catching the Hilltoppers in action against Troy. Laux said being on campus was a great experience as there was a lot of school pride and an exciting atmosphere.
Laux said some of his favorite moments from his gameday visit were the big catches from WKU's receivers as well as quarterback Austin Reed's performance.
Laux and his teammates helped lead Belle Vernon to their first state championship win in program history, defeating Neumann-Goretti 9-8. The Panthers finished the season with a 12-2 record and a 3-0 mark in conference competition.
This past season, Laux recorded 71 completions out of 136 attempts for 1,025 yards and 11 touchdowns. Laux also contributed on the ground, rushing for 482 yards and eight touchdowns on 96 carries.
