South Sumter (Fla.) 2025 free safety and wide receiver Rashad Johnson, an intriguing athlete out of the Sunshine State, picked up an offer from Western Kentucky recently, announcing the opportunity from the Hilltoppers over social media last Sunday afternoon.
The 6-foot-2, 182-pound recruiting target out of Bushnell, FL. spoke with InsideHilltopperSports.com about how it felt to collect an offer from Western Kentucky, detailing his overall interest in the Hilltoppers at this point in his recruitment.
Johnsons said he connected with WKU assistant coach and defensive backs coach Da'Von Brown and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the new member of the Hilltoppers' coaching staff. Johnson added that he liked how Coach Brown was straight to the point and cared about his players' success on and off the field.
Johnson said he's eager to learn more about the Hilltoppers' program and is planning to stop by Western Kentucky for a visit soon. He additionally said he wanted to meet the whole coaching staff, and is specifically intrigued by the team's defensive backs group.
In addition to garnering the interest of Western Kentucky, Johnson has picked up opportunities from South Florida, and is currently on the radar of both UCF and Florida State.

"It feels great to receive an offer from WKU," Johnson said. "And I think they've been in my recruitment since Saturday."
