With last night's 51-50 win at Texas State, Western Kentucky now sets at 19-9 on the season, the first time they've been 10 games over .500 since February of 2009.

I'm willing to call that progression.

"Whats our record Larry?" "19 and 9". "How did we ever win 19 shooting the way we do?"

How do explain Western's record?
Well, the ol' saying is "defense wins championships," that's the biggest reason they have 19 wins. Despite the horrific shooting display (both from the field and at the line) and the multitude of scoring droughts this team has had this season, they've played good defense and have nearly outrebounded every team they've played.

They hustle, grab loose balls, and get offensive rebounds as well - that keeps them in games and more often than not, WKU has managed to find ways to win close (and often ugly) games.
