Kudos to the Lady Toppers, for a majority of Saturday's game they went toe-to-toe with the mighty Baylor Bears and gave them all they wanted in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

For a brief moment, WKU held a lead over Baylor in the first half, albeit short lived. However, the Lady Tops kept the deficit within single digits for most of the game with WKU cutting the margin to 70-65 on a Micah Jones three-pointer with 6:32 remaining. From that point, Baylor slowly pulled away and put the game away on free throws.

Chastity Gooch led Western Kentucky with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists with Kendall Noble adding 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. Bianca McGhee chipped in 18 points on 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc.

Baylor was led by Odyssey Sims with 31 points and Nina Davis finished with 32 points and 10 rebounds.

For the Lady Toppers, a great effort as a 15-seed in a hostile environment on the 2-seed's home court. Western Kentucky finishes their season with a 24-9 record and have planted their feet firmly back on the map of women's college basketball.
